Core 2019 Sunday Two-Headed Giant Prerelease!
Nicol Bolas wasn’t always a diabolical, Multiverse-spanning supervillain! At one point he was just a really evil dragon. He was also dead for a while. Ajani has been standing up for the downtrodden for approximately forever. See how mad he is about tyranny? Now that’s a noble lion-man you want on your team. Crucible of Worlds: Yep, it’s back for Core 2019! And so are your lands. You know, from the graveyard. It’s not a big deal-they’re just lands, right?
You’ll experience the thrill of opening Core 2019 cards for the first time with other Magic players who enjoy the game just as much as you. Everything you’ll need to play will be provided as part of your entry fee—you simply show up and play!
Prereleases are Sealed Deck format events, where you build a minimum 40-card minimum deck using the contents of a themed Prerelease Pack. For Two-Headed Giant players pool their cards together to build a 40 card minimum deck for each teammate.
After you build your decks, you’ll be randomly paired with another team for a best two-of-three match. Each round you’ll report who won and be paired up with a different team. Each team starts with 30 life and teams play through the phases of the game at the same time.
Core 2019 Prerelease Pack contents:
- 6 Core 2019 booster packs
- One randomized date-stamped premium promo card from among the rares and mythic cards in Core 2019
- Spindown life counter
Registration for this event closes at 5 pm and will get started shortly thereafter. For each team who enters the tournament we will add 4 booster packs of Core 2019 to the prize pool. Each person is guaranteed at least one booster pack if they finish the event. The entry fee for the event is $60 per team or $30 per player.
